Howdy you all!
My dad and I bought a 86 Montero 4cyl, 4x4 5 speed with a locked up engine. it had a brand new head installed and was ran for 10 minutes..locked up and we cannot spin it at all.
before I go and pull and yank it apart, is there anything I should look specifically at?

Timing chain may have locked up, piston in the bore, crank rod bolt sticking out...there are numerous possibilities.

We have tried to turn it both ways...it will not budge, at all.
I guess we pull the motor and take it apart to see. Hope its not a major major..

pulling the valve cover will give you a look at the top of the timing chain, and the rockers. I had one lock up from a piece of a disintegrating jet valve jamming between cam and head.
