Can I swap a 3.0L from a 1996 mitsu van into my 1991 montero? If I cannot just drop it in are the heads compatible....I need a set of heads that are good if Im going to rebuild my old motor.

Also what is a 1996 3.0 L worth? Supposedly has 53000 miles on it since being rebuilt but by whom? and no documentation.

I do not get on here much anymore so you can TXT me on my cell if you want.

Thanks!

Scott

No offense, but there is an unbridged dictionary's worth of info on this forum about swapping 6G7X engines and related. And there is little in the way of super short answers.

Some will chime in here, as it is that kind of a place, though it might be a good idea to search and then ask. You cannot expect anyone to text you 160 characters at a time on a tiny keyboard with what is and isn't possible.

JMO, of course...

Gotcha, did a search and came up with a bunch of other stuff not related to my needs. Simple yes it can be done with ease or Yes with modifications or no.

Yes with mods. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cyclops.gif" alt="" /> Don't recall if the heads fit.

The search engine is very exact and I suspect the reason many have problems finding results is because they don't include critical info which the engine uses to find results. What search terms did you use when you did your search? Did you adjust the date range accordingly?
