Need a Spot
finishing up a head gasket & new head 86 22re, when I put the crank balancer on 0 , the timing mark on the cam is slighly to the right , its not perfect in line with mark on the rocker assy, there are no bright links on the chain to line up, but thats not really needed if you get the cam & crank marks right, i moved the chain a link on the cam sprocker and it still was not at 12 o clock [Linked Image] thanks in advance for any help!

That timing mark on the cam pulley will not be straight up at 12:00. I think it's supposed to be to the 11:30ish side.
You are correct, bright links aren't always necessary, but can be helpful.
Check the FSM at the top of the page for clarification.
I duplicated the web site for the '93 FSM on my laptop so I won't be without it.
It's been very handy.
