Thanks man! It's been a long road to all these mods and the funny part is you never stop with the mods haha. I was lucky enough to start purchasing things for my Montero when companies still produced them. Now there are things that aren't made anymore or you have to find one someplace by accident lol. If you need any info or pics let me know.

Wish I was as lucky as you to find one with super low miles tho, that's insane!!!

So after 23 days, tomorrow is finally delivery day. I am so excited, I am like a kid in a candy store. I am also glad I will no longer have to wake up at 4am to drive my wife to the train station so she can go to the gym before she goes into work.

The Montero was delivered early this morning. Overall it is in great shape. The interior is immaculate and there is no rust in the body. The paint looks great and she drive nice and tight. I have only noticed a few small issues. I think they can all be fixed for about $100 and some elbow grease. I will post some pics as soon as I can. I was really busy today getting safety, emissions, license and registration.

-The radio needed a code - I pulled the radio and called the dealer and they provided the code for free.

-The antenna mast is broken/kinked but I still get AM/FM - I ordered a new one for $32

-Plastic on the rear bumper has a small ding - A little bondo and pint should take care of this

-The undercarriage has a little more rust than I like, but I planned on rust proofing it anyway. - I plan to have it soda blasted by a local company, and then I will paint it with POR15.

tell me more about this soda blasting. They just plan on covering the under body and frame? Wondering how they will get around everything under there without taking parts off

btw, best of luck. I wish I ran into a Gen II.5 with miles like that, lucky SOB <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Unlike other types of blasting, soda blasting is much more controllable. Soda blasting can be controlled to the point that you can take off one layer of paint at a time. That's why it is the preferred method for removing graffiti. It is also perfect for removing rust from undercarriages from vehicles. Another reason it is a preferred method of rust removal is the soda acts as a natural rust inhibitor. It acts like a primer. If you sand blast or media blast you will leave exposed bare metal which then needs to primed and painted immediately. Soda blasting is very environmentally friendly and it costs about the same as sand and media blasting. The place I go to will do a whole undercarriage for about 75-100 bucks, depending on the size of the vehicle and the amount of rust that needs to be removed.
