Need a Spot
Hi All,

I've been lurking for quite some time and finally pulled the trigger on a Montero.

Anyone know which front seat headrests will fit in a 99 Montero? I have a 99 w/winter package white exterior w/gray leather seats. The PO seems to have put the third row headrests on the front seats in my new-to-me Montero. The third row was without headrests. Seems like the front headrests on all Monteros look similar (I tried downloading this mmc-asa_usa.exe form mitsubishilinks.com to look for compatibility, but the download was getting hung-up). I found several headrests on car-parts.com, but wanted to ask here before purchasing something that didn't fit.

A couple of the headrests on car-parts.com stated 'power'. Anyone ever heard of power headrests?

Thank you,

Clem

It may mean its for a set of power seats instead of Manual seats.

Any Gen II - II.5 will fit. One thing though is that the same basic colors are different shades in different years and/or for different trim. For example, the tan leather in my 95 LS is not the same leather as a 95 SR, neither of which were the same as the tan in our 98.

I have front row headrests in the second row seats. They look better and have the tilt function. Don't bother with the same for the 3rd row as they are too tall to fold the seats up to the sides.

There is a Mitsubishi recycler in Rancho Cordova not too far from me. I'll give them a call/head over there this weekend to see if they have a close match.

Thanks for the info,

Clem

Ahh yes, good ole MSRecycling.

They saved my one year when my trailing arm & the tailshaft housing on my xcase broke on the 'con. Then 2 years later they had a replacement rear end w/ LSD for me when my housing eventually broke (most likely initiated by the prior failure the con). If you go, tell them I said hello!

Well I haven't made it out to look for headrests yet, but I did get a chance to replace some burnt out bulbs (high mount stop light, drive indicator and left rear wheel in the instrument panel).

When I was pulling out the instrument cluster I messed up the cruise control. When I pulled the connector out a little copper part with three fingers fell out as well as a little black plastic bit.

Anyone know how they are supposed to go back together?

The way I put it back to together didn't result in an operating cruise control.

Thanks,

Clem
