so, I can get my hands on a diamante sohc 24v 6g74 for cheap. this will bolt up to my trans, right? and I use my stock motor mounts?

I am not too worried about the distributor or manifold porblems, as I intend to run megasquirt and put a montero intake manifold and exhaust manifolds on it.

If I had all the money I've ever spent on cars, I'd spend it all on cars.

Dunno. Never looked. I would check the motor mount pads, the tranny brace bolt points, and the oil filter mount, in addition to the bellhousing pattern.

Yes it will bolt in, but you will find little things that can trip you up. Some of the bosses for the engine mounts differ between engines, the tooling that the blocks are prepped on is the same but not all the cast bosses are.
The engine has the crank trigger wheel but no cam sensor since that is in the dizzy, I expect it should not be a problem getting a can sensor installed then the MS can be configured full Sequential.

I have also been eyeing one of these engines to replace my 3.0L in my rig...would this be a plug-n-play type deal or will there be issues with the transmission since the Diamante (afaik) is a fwd vehicle?

94 Montero LS 3.0L, stock...for now, I'm workin' on it.
