Greetings!
I hope this finds everyone in good spirits. What is the best oil filter for 1994 Montero SR 3.5 liter? I've always used OEM, but considering K&N or Mobil 1.
I'm open for suggestions! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

From what I've read...WIX or Amsoil filters are the best over the counter ones out there.I use WIX filters on my 3 rides & use fully synthetic oil. Change them every 5000 miles.

If you change your oil every 5000 miles, it probably doesn't make a big difference what kind of oil filter you use. I would guess that the less expensive ones like Wix or Napa would be just as good as the more expensive ones like K&N, at least over the course of 5000 miles. From what I remember, at least on my 1984 Honda Ascot motorcycle, a K&N oil filter costs 2-3 times what a "regular" oil filter costs, and isn't worth it if you chang the oil and filter every 5K.

The Stock Denso oil filter (original to Mitsubishi's specs) would be my pick. You can even buy Mitsubishi oil, it's called eneos. However, I usually run Mobil 1 full syn. The stock filter costs no more than a wix/fram or any others.
