First off, the motor was just fully rebuilt and the trans has new fluid and filter. Motor has all new injectors along with being rebuilt from the main bearings out.
It feels like its running on 5 of 6 cylinders at idle, but perks right up when you accelerate...though it stumbles ever so slightly when cruising. Ideas?
New fluid and filter in the trans as well as a new torque converter seal. Trans shifts great in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd...but it will NOT go into 4th. I can press the OD button and the dash light will go on or off but it still never effects it going into OD. Ideas?

I can't help you w/ the miss; but would be interested in the cause. mine does it occasionally..
As far as the O/D problem, mine did the same thing. Finally traced it back to the O/D solenoid. I found out the cost AFTER the guy ordered the new 1 (almost $400 from Toyota).I believe some of the guys here have some used ones you can purchase.I'd check w/ rxinhed first.Had I known in advance I'd have gotten a used 1 or machined a by-pass plate & eliminated the optional "off" .
Good luck & keep me posted on the miss problem.

I would need the solenoid number...I've had two 91 parts trucks for the automatic pieces.

Check thermostat and coolant temp sensor ecu side. My civic didnt go into overdrive because the thermostat was stuck open.

A long time ago my first major repair to my running $300 vehicle was the OD solenoid I got from rxinhead. Mine did the same thing, solenoid solved that.

The parts manual list the part as follows;
MD609 445 VALVE ASSEMBLY,solenoid
The Toyota part box has 2 numbers;
85420-22060
D57427P solenoid, A42D/A43D O. DR
Hope this helps.
Any ideas on the hesitation? Mine stumbles or fades when accelerating..only when the engine & outside temp is cold...and only for about the first 1/4 mile.

Any thoughts on it being the overdrive RELAY?
Seems like the cheapest place to start...$10!

I went that route on mine. The relay is a bear to get to. You have to remove the ECU & you'll find it located in w/ a couple of other relays.There is 1 mounting screw , but I believe you'll need a mirror to see it.
You can check for voltage @ the solenoid If you can turn the voltage on & off there; then the ckt & relay are good.
Good luck.
