I just got some 100w bulbs for my sporty, I changed them and seen that there is a type of shield inside the headlight, it is held on with a screw, Is it necessary to have it there or can I bend it out of the way of the bulb? I cant get it out but it is bendable.

leave it there, it gives a proper light pattern. if you take it out the light will scatter everywhere rather than be in a defined beam. ie: the ricers who put in the HIDs and blind every person in front of them and can barely see the road still...

Not that I have noticed. I did smell something a few days ago, I will check into it more on my next day off.

Agreed. don't remove it. when i see ricers with HID's that blind me.. I say, "my turn" and turn my high's on. My Aux lights are relayed off my high beam circuit. Blind me and I blind you back! (=
