Update,
Found the article I was looking for , now to find a kit since everyone that offered them is evidently out of business.
Looks like another junk yard adventure. Since I thankfully don't have ABS I think all I need is a set of Aisin Hubs and a set of cv axles with the correct outer splines to fit those hubs. That's a question.
Am I thinking right here?

Am I thinking right here? I know some of the early Tacos (like 95-97ish?) had manual hubs, but I'm sure they were rare. They were about half the height of the earlier hubs, and the lockout dials were grey. I've seen a few around, but not in a while. Not that that's much help, but at least they for sure exist.

Since I thankfully don't have ABS I think all I need is a set of Aisin Hubs and a set of cv axles with the correct outer splines to fit those hubs. That's a question. It's more than that since it's basically also a change from semi-float to full-floater bearings. Details are at various links already posted or several other places around the web. There's a manual hub conversion article here at 4x4Wire: http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/reviews/man_hub_conversion/But you are correct that Off-Road Solutions is out of business. That article is a nice reference for the parts involved, but you can't just buy it from ORS anymore. If you buy the parts from a junk yard, it's easiest to buy the entire spindles/steering knuckle along with the CV axles, hubs, etc. I maintained ABS with my ORS conversion, but I can see how many people don't do that due to limited availability of parts.

ORS is not "really" out of business, he is still making harnesses and such, you just have to give him a call. He no longer has the big shop.... but he is still making parts... at the very least he can lend a hand on what to get (he is a manager at a toyota dealership)

Thankx guys , Stock, Greg , Jordan, Jeff , Guys like you are why I think this is the best Toy forum.
I really hate spending lana I don't need to these days , and more importantly ,I'm very careful / selective who I give my money to.
I've been wrenching on toyot's since my first bugeye hilux ( I forget the motor but I think I did a valve job about every 6 months) so I've seen a few but this hub and bearing deal has got me stumped for the moment since I haven't torn a newer one apart yet and I like to have a visual in my head before I start on any new project.
