Getting the Wheeling Fever
Anyone running their Monty with Transmission Throttle Cable disconnected? I've tried setting it as stated in fsm but doesn't have much power unless I disconnect it.

Am I hurting the transmission by disconnecting it?

Is my problem elsewhere?

When adjusting cable, what increments should I use?

You've potentially got other problems then.

Absolutly Yes. This controls pressure on your clutch packs, and you will burn them out if you run it disconnected.

I'd do it exactly like the FSM says to. Check fluid levels exactly as the manual says to also.

It would help us if you filled out your signature, and told us what kind of vehicle we are diagnosing.

I hope you get it figured out soon.

I should have known better.
My Transmission throttle cable is definitely broken at the crimp where line meets bracket on intake manifold. My tps is questionable. I was adjusting 2-3 turns back and forth each time on the cable last night for a good 20 miles drive.
