So Ive heard and read that replacing a little rubber hose off of the fuel pump can fix some stutter issues.

Can anyone tell me where exactly this little rubber hose is and how to go about replacing it?

Please be specific as Ive never even messed with anything fuel related (other then gas cap)in a vehicle before. Is it the small tube going to a filter circled in red?

no it is the hose that goes from the pump to the plate that bolts to the tank it is on the top of the pump fuel pump hose

wow that is a small hose, where do i pick up a new one? Also if the hose has no cracks or holes should i assume its good?

Use std. FI fuel hose to hold the pressure. Once you are in there, just replace it anyway, and clean the little "foot" fuel pickup screen.

man i hate to sound lame but i dont know what "std" is (LOL) or what an "FI" fuel hose is

standard fuel injection hose. 1/4" or 5/16" if I remember correctly. May be 3/8".

any parts store should have it the hose is 5/16 simple hand tools to remove it i have found that goodyear has a fi hose with a blue liner that will out last regular fi hose i think i got it from car quest or napa the ol ladys montero ran into this leak problem bout once a year after i put in the lined hose i never had to do it again

good info thanks...so once i lift the fuel pump out of the tank, simple hand tools to take the tube off, anything else a noob needs to know? do i have to de-presurrize fuel lines or anything

No special tools except some flare nut wrenches for the pressurizd line fittings from the tank to the chassis steel lines. I never depressurize the lines, just catch the spray with a rag when I crack the seal, or disconnect the wiring connector at the tank and run the motor til it dies.

If I remember right, the flare nut sizes are 14mm and 19mm, and only one end has a swivel fitting. You may be able to pull the pump assembly without removing the pressure line. The fuel return line is a simple hose clamp, I think, no real pressure on that one.

The gasket tends to stick to the tank. Peel it loose slowly so you don't tear it.

A real easy job, except sometimes the flare nuts are a bear to get loose. Aceteone+dexron is a great penetrant.
