The power door lock on driver's side is weak - does not always click shut and I often have to push the lever down by hand half way. happens when starting the engine normally but Bigger concern when locking with the remote keyfob - always have to check the handle to be certain.

Is this a solenoid going bad or maybe just need some lube in there?

Don't want to pop off the door panel if I don't know what to look for.

It's probably the motor brushes. The motor can be rebuilt if you have the skills/tools. Seems one can use the carbon brushes they use fer slot cars in the window motors. Give it a shot, take some piccies, and post them up. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Happened to my 99 4runner, i replaced the door latch/motor asembly with a good used unit...
