I doubt he knew how dangerous that was. But it goes with the mentality that the sheet metal must be protected at all costs.

Instead I think the mind set needs to be that you try to avoid body damadge but if you are going to roll safety first! Tuck everything in, cinch that seatbelt down and hold the hell on.

Stay on pavement and keep riding that bicycle with OEM training wheels. Very likely he forgot to bring his Jeep's TW on this trip.
