OK, Here i go again, I am kinda ll over the place these days, I have two mighty maxs with 2.6 and have to many ideas and not enough money so here I go on plan B

My 4wd mighty max is my daily driver... The carb actually works pretty good but I feel like there is more i could get so here I go

What I wanna do is A starion TBI, running N/A (for now) and a megasquirt ecu.

I want this system to be simple, tidy, efficent, and reliable... I know that is a lot to ask.

So I guess I need a shoping list of items I should start collecting.

First of all a megasquirt ecu is on the list and i get a little overwhelmed by all the ecus, any one with experience care to share what I might need?

I really like the price of MS1, buts is MS2 really wurth it? If I do ever turbo it I don ever really see my self making anything more then stock starion power so do I need it to tune my timing?

Any help would be appreciated and maybe this will make a good thread for others looking to get away from carbs as well.

thanks

mike

Mike, I don't know why you don't just turbo it from the get go? You'll be almost there, and from what I've seen of Kevin's and others, its a completely different animal when boosted... if you're yanking the devil's Mikuni anyways, and you're in there... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cyclops.gif" alt="" />

my understanding is that the stock Starion ecu will work fine mapping out the fuel and spark without the turbo attached. Just plumb the air intake for N/A. When the need for speed dictates pulling the trigger on the turbo, you'll already have all the wiring harness done. Then you could add the exhaust side of the equation, plumb the oil lines and intercooler lines, and voila. Others who have installed the turbo setup please chime in.
