Getting the Wheeling Fever
I've finally got the heads ready to go on the new-to-me block for my '92 Montero V6 auto.

The engine is out.

How far should I assemble the engine before placing it in the truck? All the accessories (power steering pump is still in the truck) and exhaust manifolds? What about the intake manifold?

Also, do anyone have any pics of an assembled engine on a stand? Just in case I've forgotten where some of the braces and brackets go.

Thanks yall!
-matthew

Install the heads, valve covers, all front covers and exhaust manifolds with heat shields. Don't forget to install the driver side upper intake bracket on the rear of the driver side head. Install the A/C bracket, P/S pump bracket and alternator bracket. Install the crankshaft pulley, fan and tensioner brackets. Do not install the lower intake until the engine is in and bolted down - it will allow easier access to the upper bellhousing bolts.

here is my V6 build from a couple of years ago. Plenty of pics that might help.

I always put masking tape(I don't trust rags)on intake cause I like to drop nuts and such in manifold holes and whereever else I can do damage.
