so, i installed a new radiator and a new fan clutch a few months ago. it was 102 today and took the kia to MSF class... fan spun the whole way.. was like a plane.. clutch never disengaged.. it's new. it works properly normally. it didn't do it on the way home.. was it just cause it was so darn hot??? i mean, i was doing 60...

So, i bought an 01 Kia Sportage. before i even drove it, i nick-named it The Goat.. it has been just like a goat.. stubbern at every corner...

New fan clutch is no good. I would be going back to where you bought it and ask for a replacement unit, plus some form of compensation for the time to replace it.
They will probably only replace the item itself but you never know. You might score yourself some freebies! Worth a shot anyway...

These fan clutches.. i don't like them. mine was fine and then one day (doing 60) just fully kicked in.. so rapid the belt started slipping and screetching. Anyway it was fine later that day and didn't do it again.. don't know why. temps were ok. anyway, I converted mine to an electric fan and bought a $60 fan temperature control. it turns itself on and off based on the sensor probe that is tucked between the fins of the radiator near the upper radiator hose. works great! fan was free.. total cost: $60
