My AT's in 3 out of 4 rigs have each had over 200k using standard compatible dyno fluid. The one is a lower mileage rig so its not as high a mileage. That said, unless you're racing or using it as a work rig, I'd bet money it's not worth the extra added expense of synthetic ATF and with the potential cost that can happen with the wrong fluid (remember the Mobil 1 mitsu tranny compatible fluid that ate up Doug B's tranny??) I think it's just foolish to try with the potential risk...

Title your Post Appropriately. If you have a specific question, put the specifics in your title. A good example would be: Gen 2 3.5 ltr Crank bolt problems,OR My Gen1 is smoking after start up. A poor example would be Help me please my truck Suxor!! OR "Transmission"

Also you've got some horrid acronym usage going on in that title. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I flushed and refilled with Castrol Import, which specifically lists the Mitsubishi Diamond III as a compatible brand. 20k since and not a single problem. It even cured some small slipping issues that had begun to arise when the tranny was cold. If I could have easily located or afforded the Diamond III fluid, I would have gone that route, but the Castrol has been good to me so far.
