Body Damage is Cool
Well, most of you know I bought a '98 in Jan. of 2011. The thing is, I never really did much to it. The running boards/ mud flaps were removed, the bars turned, and basic maintenance was performed. I was waiting for the nearly new Bridgestones to wear out before spending the $$$ for 33's. However, last weekend changed all that.

Our friend Dave (Mendel on the wire) or as I refer to him as the Professor, recently let me know he was moving to Indianapolis for a teaching position at a University. Last Friday he contacted me asking for advice. His '91 which he was going to drive to his new home, had started leaking oil from the front cam seals. he didn't have time to fix it (he and his family were leaving Sunday) and the leak was faily substantial. He asked what he might be able to do, and also what to do with the truck if he could find suitable transportation (his other vehicles were already there, and a rental was quoted @ $900.00).

So we talked for a while, and it dawned on me, why not offer him my '98. So, a deal was struck, and after switching his brand new 33's over to the '98, he was ready to go.
So, I ended up w/ the '91 that has some great features. He had the Starion LSD installed in the front diff. the (smaller) bushwacker flares are still in great shape, and overall, it's not a bad rig.
I figure I've had at least 6 Gen 1 trucks, a Gen 2, a 2.5, a 3, and back to a Gen 1. Go figure... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
As soon as it cools off some, I'll fix the leaks, and get it back on the trail.
BTW, the '98 looks awesome w/ the 33's on it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Also, if you see a super clean Gen 2.5 that's WHITE, let me know!

That's pretty cool, sounds like Az crew stuff for sure. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

So if we find a super nice Gen 2.5 and it's not white don't bother?

Heck, if there's a tartan plaid Scottish version, I might be persuaded... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />
I spoke w/ Dave and the trip went well. He (like most of us) commented that these trucks could use a bit more power. Although the 4.2 gears w/ the 33's don't help all that much either.
But I would rather have a white truck, in fact there's a High-School girl in the area that drives a nice Gen 2.5 that's white, but her mom isn't interested in selling it just yet. I really don't blame her.

So make friends with the high school girl.

Wait...that's too creepy. Sorry. Never mind.
