Will be doing the tranny flush and decided to treat it out a bit and go with either Mitsu or Hyundai (compatible right) fluid. Anyone have a line on a good priced source?

I looked all over the internets when I did mine and concluded that my local dealer actually had the best price. Think I got a case for around $65. Next best thing I could find was here on ebay

My owners manual and shop manual says to use ATF DEXTRON II or equivalent, 10.4 qts.
Someone needs to show me/us where it says to use only Mitsubishi ATF.
I've heard all the stories over the years, but show me the facts.
Here's something to chew on. Dexron Mercon III supercedes all previous Dexron II specifications. You can safely use it. You can also use Dexron IV, which is even better and compatible with Dexron III and II specifications.
Did you know that the original Dexron had a high percentage of whale oil, Dexron II was formulated without it. Original Dexron is arguably the best tranny fluid ever created, but due to its ingredients cannot be made anymore.
OK I've got my flame suit on so fire away. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I had a to install new filter and oil pan gasket and my mechanic used Dexron 4, seems to be running good, except that when cold it revs up a bit higher till it changes gear.

Be careful with some of those dexrons as you won't have a working transmission anymore. I know i know the whole "i've used it for years with no problems" and "this friction modifier makes it SP equivalent".
Just remember that these are Japanese trucks with Japanese parts and Japanese manuals translated into English. I've found more than one serious mistake in the manuals, My favorite is the 90ftlb of torque on injector assembly I tried it and it didn't work and i have the broken injector as a reminder.
I think there are a few other threads on this subject, even a mobile 1 vs Diamond SP thread. Ray i heard a rumor that you can get Diamond SP at a discounted price at the Hyundai dealer stickered as Hyundai SP or something. I personally just have the dealer do my trans flush as it is cheaper than DIYing it because they have the machine to do it.
