Due to the proper use of the vehicle the "mirrors" have fade an also made "craks".
what are my options? note that I have the older version that the front is glass and not plastic that "blurs" and I would like to keep it.
Can I repaint?? What else?

I know you can polish the outside plastic. I have done this procedure: headlight restoration and it worked well, however, when I applied the urethane, it didn't come out the greatest. Will re-sand and do the application over later. Post some pictures of your issue. Hope this helps a little. Thanx But my problem is not the "glass" outside but the mirror-like surface on the inside...

Hi Fokion,
if your silver lens is pitted or rusted over unfortunately the only choice is to replace.
but think of the improved light output afterwards.

It is a very risky procedure but if your highly careful you may be able to do this. It is possible to place your headlights in the oven at a low (250?) temp and warm up the 'goop' that holds the lens onto the reflector housing to pull the lens off. then you could clean and remove the chrome paint and possibly respray the reflector dishes. The reason I had pulled my lenses out was simply cause I wanted to paint the chrome outer ring black.. It doesn't sacrifice any light projection but it gives the headlights a JDM look. But as I said, I'm not responsible for you melting your headlights if you do, lol! It's a tricky job but with patience it can be done. If you look at my headlights, you'll notice they are darker than most. There was another guy on here that had the same success as me doing the JDM black mod I cam up with. see the link on my footnote.

Sorry, Thought you were talking about the lens. Don't know if you can do anything to the highly polished chrome finish inside. If you do the headlight trick that Panicmech (I am the 3rd guy to do it I guess) IT IS 250F he is talking about NOT C. Just check them often for the sealant to soften not the plastic.

I know the prosedure ( an NO iwill NOT hold you responsible if i fry my headlights ) since I was looking to the option of Xenon projectors - not only lamps and ballasts - solution that is not my favorable since usualy the beam goes strait to the oposite driver's eyes...
so there IS a "paint" that I can try??? a high reflective paint?
