Who told you you need a throttle body????
Did they do a propane test for cracks and leaks.
A T.B. wouldn't wear out unless someone drove it in a sandstorm without an air filter.
3 parts ON the T.B. can wear out :Throttle Position Sensor(electric), Idle Control Servo (electric) and wax pellet in the hot water system thru the T.B.
'89 T.B. is specific to '89 only in CA and 49 states. It may have been used on '91 CA Mighty Max( CA only).

The previous owner said that the high idle i'm experiencing must be because of the throttle body. he said he replaced the IAC and all vacuum hoses and thinks that he's narrowed it down to the throttle body. I bought from a guy out in the california desert so sand is a possibility. I read a few post where people replaced there TB and it fixed their problem, so I figured I'd give it a try. Dont think he did a propane test.
Pretty sure the engine is stock...I can take a photo if u want.

Have you tried spraying it all down with carb cleaner to see if you can get a change in idle? Including the master cylinder hose?METALMOVER
