Need a Spot
I am switching out my front hubs on my 2000 KIA Sportage but can not for the life of me figure out how to remove the camming assembly as shown if fig. 5 on the instruction sheet.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I swapped out the hubs on my '98 with WARN manual hubs a couple of years ago, and didn't have any issues that couldn't be solved with a rubber mallet. I saw this yesterday and was going to go home last night an review the instructions to see if I could figure out what you meant by "cam housing" but brain locked. I'll try again tonight.

If you are talking about the entire hub, once the bolts are out, just wacking it with the mallet worked it free. There was a good bit of rust in there so the wacks were pretty forceful.

There are 6 bolts with 10 mm heads that hold on the cam assembly, which can be replaced with the WARN manual hub locks. The locking/cam assembly might be held on by a sealant like RTV silicone or a form-a-gasket compound. Harley John is on the money - give the lock mechanism a few healthy "taps" with a non-marring hammer of some sort (after removing the bolts). They should loosen up, at least enough that you will see the seam open between the hub and the lock. Then you can just pry them off by working your way around with a flat-head screwdriver.

1997 Sportage 4x4, auto-trans, Warn manual hubs, 4" UPYOURKIA front lift, TJ 106AA rear springs, 2-5/8" body lift, 31x10.50 treads, SmittyBilt SRC front and XRC rear bumper, swing-out tire mount, OBX LSD front diff, Track Finder rear locker, 5.38 R&Ps and... really crappy gas mileage!

I just swapped mine for warn hubs and it was an easy swap. It took all of about 20 minutes total. Just remove the 6 bolts and take the auto locking hub off and then put the new one on and bolt it back down.
