Getting the Wheeling Fever
well, i ordered a dynomax muffler (#17747) and monza tip last week and i took them into a shop to get installed today. as people probably already know, these have a 2.25" diameter. well, the exhaust place said that i have 2.5" piping stock... is this weird? so, basically, i have the wrong size muffler/tip. anyone need them before i just send them back and exchange them? any other advice? help! thanks,

wally

p.s. i *thought* i had done my research on these... i searched and came across many posts where people had bought this specific combo. do i have a rogue exhaust system?

Wally, Just an idea here....
Post what year 4Runner you have next time. It helps the rest of us figure out if you have a fluke truck or not.

His profile says he has a 98. But is it v6 or 4cy?

When I did the exhaust on my 96, the stock pipes were just a little smaller than 2.25", so they flared them out to match the 2.25" inlet and outlet of my Vortex muffler. You should have the same size pipes if yours is a stock V6 setup.

I just had my dynomax installed a couple weeks ago. My stock exhaust was 2.25" as well. I would get a different shop to look at it if I were you. Or was there a previous owner who put an aftermarket exhaust on it?
