Hey all! Long time no talk, last time involved many engine and/or tire questions and I can't thank you all enough for the input, it has kept me away (without problems ) until now...
SO, title says it all. I have the opportunity to pick up a 89 V6 donor vehicle, but beyond the motor, tranny, and fuel tank are most parts interchangeable? I've done some archive digging but I'd like a definite answer before taking the plunge and acquiring a good ol' car-on-blocks lawn ornament.
Things I'm looking to take: 1) Rear window (my defroster elements are toast) 2) Front window 3) Bumpers/ various paneling 4) Bouncy seat! Why can't I have two up front? 5) Interior: carpet, rear seat, dash 6) Unforeseen odds and ends that will go bunk eventually
Keep in mind I will soon make available parts for any of you guys as well, all I ask is some pocket change and shipping from the last frontier as I'm in AK now

There are natural differences between the 4- and 6-cylinder models. The 89 SWB/LWB will have a funny little set of mounts from the body to frame in the rear fenderwells. The biggest diff will be the engine/trans and things directly related, bolted to, and attached. The body, interior, etc. have nuance differences. The 89 SWB may have rear 3-point seat belts, some vertical bars inside the rear window, rear interior panels have a hole for the seat belt retractors, speaker covers are not the same but can be used. The 89 most likely has a rear wiper delay not found on the 87. The rear frame crossmember is difference to accommodate the larger tank and the bumper mounts are accordingly different.
I have not had a V6 SWB, but the interior dome light could be different. Comments about are based upon numerous LWB and 4-cyl SWB models I've parted out, or from wrecking yard forays. Buy the V6 and get larger front brakes, too!

What would you consider a fair price for a car in this Un-drivable condition, knowing I won't be able to use a lot of the major components and one day need (possibly pay) to salvage the remainder?

Non-running and not readily fixable, scrap weight down were would be ~$400. My cheapest non-running donor was $50 and the most was @250, with a rebuilt tranny in it. Those are the only two I have bought.
Do the interiors match between yours? The 88-89 dashboards can handle a more standard speaker. Also, the guage faces light up much better.

When I go to check it out I'll try to see, but beyond eyeballing it I have no idea.

They will match as far as bolting in. I meant match is color. The 87 has the long and tall 3x7 or whatever speaker spots. The 88+ are more like 4x6. Arguably easier to mount in your doors, but if you didn't want to do that, the 87 can be retro'd with a later dash.

If you mount speakers in doors, be careful about the depth/size magnet you install since it can easily interfere with the window. HTH.

Carpet and rear bench should be a match as well correct?
