Has timing belt/tensioners and waterpump been done? If it breaks on the 3.5 it is catastrophic.

Welcome! I'm pretty sure you'll find this forum to contain the most amount of online technical info on the mitsu 4x4 models sold in N. America bar none.
1st suggestion... Read the FAQ post at the top of this forum. Lots of great tidbits of info. including where to download the factory service manuals (FSM). 2nd suggestion... Put your vehicle info in your signature so you don't have to tell us every time you post questions or updates. 3rd to answer your question... -inspect and if needed replace all fluids including radiator (flush the system), motor oil, transmission (flush), transfer case, differentials. -lube all zirk fittings while changing the fluids. There are ~12-13 of them under the rig. You can find a lube points diagram/illustration in the FSM. -verify the 4wd system works -verify the last tune up was done using iridium plugs and within 100k. If you can't verify then do one. -verify the timing belt was done within 100k miles (max)/60k miles minimum. On my rig you can check the belt by unbolting and checking under/behind the plastic timing belt cover. Should be the same/similar in your 94SR. -Check your battery and alternator.
It was early when I wrote this so ims sure others will chime in with more suggestions... Again welcome!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
