I'm not going to make it. It turns out that when you get married your wife expects you to spend the first New Year's Eve together. Who knew. Well, I and my wife spent our first Christmas Eve in Anza Borrego <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> she liked it. And our second Christmas, too... The palm Canyon campground is comfortable and she felt very well there. The views are great, the conditions are nice. There are good hotels in the town, too. The only reason why we did not spend our third Christmas in Anza Borrego was that our son was just 5 days old on Christmas and it was too early for him to drive to Anza in that important period of his life.

Thanks Oleg. Unfortunately the other trails are quite far away from that campground unless everyone doesn't mind a long highway drive for those days of wheeling?
Otherwise, I'm thinking the camp grounds at Ocotillo Wells will be the best alternative I can find since it can accommodate a party our size (7-10 rigs/up to 2 dozen people) and are about as centrally located as one could expect.
Unless others have better insights they can share...

That's the plan head out Monday morning. Drive out there on Saturday. About what time will you be getting to camp?
