Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey Everyone!

I need some help, A few months ago The front cam shaft bolt sheared off my Monty. I parked it and a friend offered to use his puller/come along to remove the sheared off piece from the Crank, well he snapped it off and now it appears I need to replace the Crankshaft completely since I now have a hardened piece of steel broken off into it.

Has anyone ever replace the crank? any idea of where I might purchase one with all the bearings etc? Anywhere I can get the details/step by step on this? I had the Shop Manuel for my Monty but since I loaned it out to a friend a few years back he doesn't remember if he returned it or not.(convenient story I know)

Any help would be appreciated.
Also is it possible to jack up the rig and do this repair from the bottom?

Thanks for any help!
Drew

Download the FSM per the FAQ post for a start. There may be a post where someone discusses the process but you'll need to check on the FAQ post or do a search on the forum.

This thread seems to be about the bolt. My friends puller broke off while trying to remover the sheared bolt.So now it seems my only course of action is to replace the entire crankshaft.

I have a long block that could cheaply donate a crank to your project, not too far away either.
