woah rxinhed , they made ext cab mighty max? that is sweet i'm jealous.

anyway does anyone have suggestion for what shackle length to order, and a good place to get one? and also how far I can crank the torsion bars? and i'll check for any monteros at the junk yard for upper control arms. anything else I can look into? I thought I read rancho 5000s would get the front up a bit?

So my junkyard has 2 Gen II monteros, a 98 sport and a 95 SR with the rear axle and locker... which I'm considering.

Although, if I grab the upper control arms thats gonna lift my front? Any other parts I could take form the IFS?

I am pretty sold on some 6" eye-to-eye toyota front axle shackles, not too sure which company I'll order yet:
http://www.datinfab.com/toyotafrontspringshackles.aspx
http://www.trail-gear.com/shackles
http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/Shackles.shtml

Since my stock shackle is 3", am I correct to assume a 6" shackle will give me 1.5" lift rear?

And please if anyone could let me know if Montero upper control arms are worth pulling?

Back when I had a Toyota pickup I used 4crawler shackles, and Roger made them about 9" long for me to both fix sagging springs AND lift it. Had to take one of them to a grinder to get the bushing to fit (they were a smidgen narrow) but that being said, I'd still use them again. Great product, great guy.

Thanks geocrasher. Why does everyone say to get shackles off the FRONT of a toyota? According to this the fronts are offset: http://www.trail-gear.com/shackles , that doesn't sound right.

Oh and before I waste time pulling, no one seems to be real clear on this: Will upper control arms from Gen II Montero give me any height? Is there any component of the IFS I can pull or order that will?

I sure hope they fit, because I ripped Gen II montero UCA out of the junk yard. I plan to crank torsion bars all the way an trim the bump stops, and replace the UCA's. For the rear I got some really cheap looking universal shackles at Auto Zone , I will try them out...

I did not end up using the Montero UCA's. I cranked the torsion bars as tight as they would go, and it came up just under 2". like 1.8". I was very happy with the ride still, so I saw no point.

Then we put on these universal shackles from Orielly:

I need bigger tires. 35's would probably fit nice, but I'll run 33's until I get some differentials or axles from a Montero. Next I'll be putting front / rear bumbers and rollbar from a Toyota I already picked up.
