Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hello Guys,

I have my ABS light on and it is really uncofortable to brake, while slowing down to 10mph and lower, don't have the time to go in finding the source of the problem, but was wondering if there is a quick way to disable ABS? like pulling a fuse or something. By the way the fuse map on my trucks fuse box is washed away, cant tell what is what.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I dont recall the TS process but I'm curious what's it doing when you slow down? Mine's been on since I bought it but it slows fine even for emergency stops...

Are you sure it's not just new pads or a flush and fresh bleeding needed? I mean, that won't cure the ABS light issue but I'm not sure the abs light should affect basic braking.

It was fine when I got the truck, no ABS light no "stop n go" slow down, in slower speeds... the pads and rotors are OK last time I checked them. I started experiencing this when the ABS light came on (after the engine overhaul) I am almost sure it is a sensor or a pinched sensor cable but could not find anything with a visual inspection.
And yes it brakes strong no issues, just the slow down is like "stop n go, press brake-release brake" as if I am doing it on purpose, makes and awkward slow down specially when you have a guest in the car LOL, because you can see the effects in their body movements.

So it's as if the ABS is working in overdrive as you slow down and it increases in intensity as the speed decreases? That's weird... You sure it's not just a bad disk that needs to be turned or replaced?

On my '95, there's a small fuse box right off the positive battery connection. Inside are a couple-few relays. Of the two that say ABS on them, my front one has been removed. Never noticed it until a year ago when I replaced the tiny in-dash bulbs for a couple of sockets and the ABS light was then on. I took it right back out; it's bright and obnoxious.

Still haven't connected it back up to see if it works.

One hopes not. Those things are incredibly expensive new.
