I'm putting togehter everything to get my gen 1 swb lifted. Right now im sitting stock on 33. I noticed one of my otsion bars looks completely maxed out and the other has quite a bit of adjustment. I have no idea why as it was a bone stock rig before I bought it.

Anyhow right now I have the toyota shackles.

I was planning on buying the ome springs with the 1.5 lift, but I dont know which spring rate to get, I assume the softer though?

OVERALL HOW MUCH LIFT AM i LOoking at between the shackles and the springs?

What can I do to compensate for the lift in the back with the front?


I also plan on installing a gen 2 sr locker, and a v6 front end as I am running a 87, along with an arb locker, although I doubt any of this will affect the lift.

whether cranking the stock TB's or getting new ones, you are only going to get a max of 2in lift in the front. Main problem is that you are going to be sitting on the bumpstops after cranking. Most of us trim the bumpstop(cut in half)to compensate. OME springs are supposed to give you 1.5in (I actually just bought the softer ones myself but have not yet put them on) and I think the Toyota shackels, if you got the stock ones, add about .5in lift. The stiffer OME rear springs are to be used if you are hauling an extra 500lb consistently or towing (according to ARB website)IIRC.
For the stock TB's, it's possible one is maxed out because it was removed and not put back correctly. You might try removing them and re-index them or set them up with stock specs. Look up how to do it on here because you want to make sure and do it correctly (for safety reasons). Hope this helps.

The SR rear axle only comes as a coil spring system. I hope you know you'll need to remove the original coil spring perches and weld on leaf spring perches.

Alternatively IIRC, some of the sports with lockers are made for leaf spring suspensions. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I'm guessing he's speaking of the Montero Sport axel swap which came with leaf springs.
