Getting the Wheeling Fever
I was siting in the drive thru and she started to rev up and down...slowly. tried to give her gas but would not do. Turned off, she was fine, drove her home. NOW...she gets on the free way...goes 17 miles, I get off, sit at light and she dies or repeats the "cough up and down again" I checked under hood, changed starter wire to battery, fuel filter, cleaned carb sections, put in the HEET. She starts up, I leave her to warm up...fine..then she starts to cough the cough. After looking deeply I noticed the accelerator cable that has the plastic piece on it....its broken (picture included) could this be my issue? I also noticed that once when I got to work, she just stall...lights dimmed and all, and then she backfired a big POW!!! after work, started and made it back home..but she is unpredictable now.

Sounds like a stuck choke to me, or vapor lock, or a failing fuel pump. Any gas smell on the oil dipstick?
