Ok here goes I have figured out the timing problem I had was due the metal plate behind the crank timing sprocket stripped out. So new parts are on and timing marks are all set. So far so good. Now I know the firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6. And when I look up online the coil pack numbers it is listed as 5-2 4-1 6-3

But when I look at my coil pack bracket it is stamped this
2-5. 4-1. 6-3
So how do I hook up my wires thank you all for your help <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Get the FSM from the link above, but if memory serves me:

#4 coil to #1 plug
#6 coil to #3 plug
#2 coil to #5 plug

And just for reference cylinder layout is like this facing engine

5 6
3 4
1 2

I did use that for my timing belt install but did not find anything about coil pack and sp wire. I did find firing order but nothing else. Or am I looking in the wrong place?

I got it thank you I was not looking at the electrical part of link doooooo.
Looking at the right image does wonders. It looks like I have it right with coil packs being 2-5 4-1. 6-3.

Well lets hope for the best I will let you all know tomorrow keep fingers crossed

2-5 or 5-2 makes no never mind. The coil fires both plugs at the same time, on on the compression stroke and one on the exhaust stroke, which is why it's called a waste spark system. One spark is positive and one negative, but both light off the mixture just fine.

As long as the right pair of wires is on the coil, your are golden.

I've read some comments that a positive spark is somewhat more erosive of the plug electrodes, but it's either on one plug or the other, so no loss either way. Unless, of course, one of your cylinders just can't stand negative vibes.

Cool thx I hope to get her up and running soon. I did notice when I looked at old plugs the anodes look very thin.
