Hey all cant seem to understand why I can start my sporty on a flat in 4l 1st without the clutch but as soon as we have some incline she wont start?? tackling some ov the hairier tracks i gotta stall 1st where other fwd in the club can just turn the key and accelerate but i have to try hand brake start <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> while sliding backwards...no good..
any reason for this i thought maybe its our gearing problem?
would love to fix this please let me know ur thoughts! happy easter

Not sure I totally understand, but you shouldn't be able to start your Sporty at all without depressing the clutch, provided you haven't bypassed the switch. Some vehicles have a clutch cancel function to allow you to start in gear without depressing it, but not ours. If you're saying you can do this on level ground, I'm not sure why.

You could add a bypass switch for off-road use, but I would not totally eliminate the clutch switch as it is a safety feature. I would recommend that if you do this, you use a momentary switch so it does not accidentally get left on. Offroad, it's a good feature to have at times.

Ok 2001 kia sportage Rh drive australia which i think is a japn model does not have clutch pedal position switch that i can see got lotz ov photz ov one and directions to find it under clutch pedal and neither myself or my local kia dealership can find one...so im back to original thoughts that its our low torque problem and hoping my upcoming gear reduction will help? hopefully....
anyway the other thing that may help is a high torque starter motor Ill do some research and try find one if any one knows ov one pls let me know or if you guys have any other ideas....
.. maybe the cpps is in engin bay?
