An inexpensive option for your lift would be to install aftermarket rear springs (I think I've read Gen2 LWB springs will also work), and crank the torsion bars up front. This is what I had done on my '91. I had 32's on that truck.

His is an 87 which has leaf springs which came with all 4 cylinder gas models so a gen II spring setup won't work since the gen II's are all coil sprung.

Well darn.

Are there add-a-leafs or drop shackles for those? I know there's something, there are a few people here w/ suspension lifts on Gen 1 4-cyls (JohnnyBfromPeoria was one I think?).

I've got a Gen 1 4cyl but no lift, I'm running Montero Sport springs in the rear, they don't give much lift but they are military wrapped springs, we always bend the Gen 1 leafs out fourwheeling so these work well.
I've also got rock sliders on the truck, for extra clearance i notched the pinch welds and welded the sliders fit up into the notch.

Any mods to run the Sport springs on a gen 1? or is it a bolt in affair?
Think they are stiffer/softer?

Body Damage is Cool
Good luck on finding the window felts. Rear springs...find an Old Man Emu distributor, I have brand new 2" lift springs on my 87. They work great with a 2" BL to fit 35's. On my 89, which is a V-6, so don't jump on my back fella's, I am running 33's. 15X10's, I think they would have been acceptable on the street. The 35's I am running on the 87 4 cyl , you have to be.....patient on accelerating. You wanna save some $$$ on a BL, PM me.

The 15X10's on my V-6 truck would be a nice bolt-on with a 2" BL. I personnally hate cutting, and I can'[t see how you can Not get away with trimming for 33's with nolift and still have the minimal suspension travel.
