OK - I replaced the Master and Slave cylinders.
Anybody got a concise cheat sheet on bleeding the system?

I know I didn't spell it out too specifically in you other post, but I believe what I told you was in fact the easiest way to do it and it isn't that hard. Basically follow what I said there and get some aquarium tubing and heat the end so that it fits over the bleeder nipple on the slave. I used my old slave as a guide. Run the tube from the slave and into the master cylinder and leave plenty of length to zip tie it into place if you have to so that it says in the master without holding it. Crack the bleeder open half a turn.

Once you've done that, fill the MC (master cylinder) with dot3 brake fluid. Don't pump the pedal. It'll gravity bleed into the slave. Let the tubing dip down from the slave so that you can clearly see it. When it is full of fluid too, and the MC has all the fluid it'll take by gravity, then pump a couple of times. Add more fluid. Repeat until fluid in the tubing goes all the way back to the MC. Now you have a closed circuit- you can pump to your hearts content until there are no more air bubbles visible in the aquarium line. Close the bleeder, feel the clutch pedal. Spongy? Tap the mc and slave with a small hammer or the end of a big screw driver. Don't be afraid to hurt them. Air bubbles are stuck on the sides. You need to dislodge them, crack the bleeder, and try again. Watch for the air. You'll see it! Then, close the bleeder... do it again. If it feels firm, then put the trans in neutral, fire up the motor, and see if you can get it into gear with the clutch in. If you can, success! If not, bleed it again.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

Try this ...

On brake calipers the bleeder is on 'top' ..Right ...?

Air bubbles go up as in your beer ..

Well now look at the clutch slave ...The bleeder is on one end and the air is on the other ..Its not up hill ...So how does one get the air to get to the bleeder ?...Try this ..

GET TWO PEOPLE ...!!!!!!

Unbolt the slave let it hang ..Now the bleeder is 'up hill' ..One person under the truck.. Crack the bleeder ...The other person "just tap' the clutch pedal a few times until the fluid starts pissing out the bleeder at the slave ...Person up top most have the brake fluid bottle open and ready or gravity will take over and emty the master faster then you think.. BEWARE once the fluid starts to flow ...You do not have time to get out from under the truck get the brake fluid and get it pored into the master...Thats why you need two people ..You can do it with one but have it all ready ... DO NOT push the pedal to the floor and leave the master cap off ...Bleeding a clutch like brakes is a pissing contest ...When you bleed brakes the brake pads/shoes bottoms out.. Then the fluid has to go somewhere so out the bleeder thats 'up hill' it goes ... Clutch system 'never' bottoms out and the bleeder is 'not up hill ...Try that ..

PS brake fluid take off paint becareful...!!

Have a good day
