Last time I went back to the Cochran coke ovens, we decided to short cut the way home through the Gila River, which was running a bit high at the time. Even on 35's with a 2" body lift, the water was on the edge of the hood. My alternator has been sounding like it's full of sand ever since.

Had to replace the alternator on the 98 Monty soon after making the trip to Indy. Couldn't help but notice its placement isn't nearly as good for water travel as it was in the Gen I,.

Pain in the rear location, isn't it? Why couldn't they have buried the power steering pump down there instead?
