Need a Spot
Now IÆve been modifying cars for the last 10 years ,so when my
Non car-nut friends started to get into 4x4Æs and modifying them
i jumped on the bandwagon
not knowing much about 4x4Æs but thinking WOW!! Why is everything off the self
so expensive
i could go just as far cheaper, just by thinking how things work and only doing wot
Needs to be done
So with that out of the way
i bought a stock Kia sportage late 2011 with high hopes.the next day ,itching for some 4x4 action i went down to my local
beach
little did i know

put the kia into 4h.....bogged down to the rails!!!
front auto hubs did not lock, i was not a happy camper
meanwhile tides coming in and im waiting for my brother in the rover to drive 10km to pull me out

so onto my first mod
WARN manual hubs(same as mazda/ford b2600 i think)

2nd mod was 3" body lift
why? i dont know ..coz its cool to have body with 26" at's/htÆs

2012 front shocks stuffed so i installed Bilstein adjustable shocks up front and lifted King springs added about 45mm after it seated
the boss [girlfriend]wanted more power so the Kia got a turbo,2.5" exhaust, evo 440cc injectors,040 fuel pump
worked out to 100kw atw 350nm/400nm

Body Damage is Cool
Really like the turbo set-up. How much boost are you seeing?
What rpm does it start boosting where you feel it?
What turbo did you use?

I cant remember wot the turbo is
I know its a garrett 180hp unit running 8psi and makes boost
as low as 1500rpm if you need, but its setup so at 100-110
km per hour(the speed limit)you can still drive without boost(just!!)

2012 i did my first big trip with the southern 4x4 club
the border track(200km long or 3days)
it was awwwwesome, ive never had that much fun with my pants on!!

Nice. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I know around here I get a lot of "What is that?"
And when I come popping out at the top of a trail its expanded to "What is that and how did you get up here?"
Didn't get air dropped thats for sure. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
