Getting the Wheeling Fever

Well after fixing the broken butterfly valves and doing the timing belt/water pump the truck has started to smoke after idling. I expected this yet didn't have the time to wait for the remaining parts to do the valve stem seals. Thus, I will be going back in this weekend. I actually like that I have to go back into the motor so I can check my work :-) . Although, its a lot of extra work.
Anyway, these are the parts that I think I need. Can anyone confirm if I am missing anything. The valve spring tool I have access too should work (so says the buddy that owns the shop). Thus I think I only need the following:
Spark Plug Seals MD186787 6 3.88 Rocker Cover Gasket MD186786 2 20.18 exhaust seals MD307343 12 3.21 intake seals MD306079 12 3.17
This is for the 3.5 DOCH (95 SR). Should I be adding the CAM seals too since we are already in there?

Definitely do the cam seals while you're there, and replace the spark plugs if you haven't already.
The space available to fit a valve spring compressor around the valve springs is ridiculously tight on your engine, and 99% of the valve spring compressors just won't fit. Unless your buddy who owns the shop has used his spring compressor on this motor specifically, I'd lay money on it not being usable.

You've got me a little worried now, I am due for the valve stem seal replacement too. I noticed this summer season that If I let my truck idle for more than 10 - 15 minutes I will get "that smell" when I rev it up after sitting. "that smell" is only recognized from when I was behind Stockraider's rig at a stop light a few times a while back when his did it but alot worse. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Anyway, what spring compressor does fit?

I think he has this one: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?...amp;dir=catalogI was thinking of purchasing the correct tool and keeping it with me so when we get stuck because his won't fit I can pull the I told you so card....and then bust out the tool to finish the job. A little friendly banter.

If you go the purchasing route, this is the correct tool, and I've used it on both the DOHC, and SOHC engines now with success. And much cheaper than the one you linked to.

I did purchase the tool. It will come in handy when the sport needs the work done. If the Snap-on one ends up working I can always return it. Everything has been ordered so I will plan to get started on Friday evening.
Thanks!
