Getting the Wheeling Fever
My Speedometer stopped working today. Any clues where I should look. My tachometer stopped working about a month ago. At first I thought it was no big deal. But now I want them both back. Checked all my fuses, they were fine. Where else should I look?

Sorry, I guess I should have mentioned that. It's on the 94SR Monty. I did a search to see what others have said about this topic, and will be pulling the instrument cluster and looking for burnt connections.

Looking at the circuit diagram, nothing in common but fuse 11, and that would kill some other stuff, I think. I'd cycle the cluster connectors and check the board.

Turns out it was the circuitry on the back of the Speedometer, just like PanamaMike00 and Ataki!
Now my Speedometer and Tachometer work. The tach is still intermittent. but at least the speedometer and odometer work.
Here are some pictures of the repair. The broken ribbon wire at the end off yellow arrow.

I used a pencil eraser to removed the coating on the wire ribbons. Then I used a knife point to expose extra ribbon to land solder on.

Soldered the jumper wire in place.

Applied Plasty Dip to recover the exposed wire ribbon.

Good on ye for fixing it. Note, the pro method of repair is to drill two holes on each side of the break and solder in a wire jumper, but yours worked.

Re the tach, download the fsm from mitsubishilinks.com and trace the wiring from the coil pack, paying attention to the LC filter in the circuit.
