After someone posted pix of a really nice Raider that was for sale, I realized how bad mine is! Some previous owner tore out the headliner and installed plastic covered in a fake chrome mylar that is coming off. They used sheet metal screws to hold the kick panels on, and the carpet is there, but nowhere near original. They even messed up the dash by gluing carpet to it. Its bugly. Is there any hope for restoring it to something nicer? I need new door cards, too as they are coming apart. The door windows are noisy and rattle, so new rubber would be nice. Are there sources for the things I've mentioned so I could return it to stock-ish form (esp the headiner)? Should I be keeping an eye out at junkyards for stuff nicer than mine? Can a 4dr headliner be cut down and used in a 2dr?

Thanks for any guidance.

The 4-door headliner is not going to help you, as they are suspended fabric, rather than glued spongy vinyl.

Carpet is do-it-yourself.

Plastic panels are find um' and get 'um these days.

Thanks Russel. Is the original headliner on Raiders not suspended? Not sure how it is supposed to be.

Like he said, the non-4-doors (Raiders) are glued spongy backed. You can get that stuff by the yard from online places. Rochford Supply has black only at $10/yd x 59" wide.

I found some similar headliner material in a Caterpillar graders once, not quite the same pattern but entirely appropriate.
