There is an interesting set of circumstances arising from the current healt care debacle. If anyone truly examines the facts, the so-called Affordable Care Act is a dismal failure. The sad thing is, it could trigger a resession that will make the Great Depression of the 1930s appear to be an era of wealth.

I spoke with my landlord today. He has several commercial properties; some of which the tenets are vacating. Seems like the small businesses that occupy these commercial properties can no longer afford to stay in business. They are some of the individuals loosing heir health care under to guise that their current individual coverage does not meet minimum requirements of the ACA.

A friend finally received her quote for coverage. She currently pays $445 per month. Her new premium will be $1250 per month. And, she has to incur $8000 in out of pocket expenses before coverage is provided.

Then, the numbers reported are interesting. It seems that the people actually receiving coverage are receiving it under Medicaid basically with no premium.

The toll is rising. People are loosing coverage. Premiums are rising. People are having hours cut or loosing jobs.

Stand by for heavy seas....

LOL - "as the toilet flushes" is a more appropriate title.

I am listening to the House hearing on the topic. Lois Wolk, D-CA seems to believe the California exchange is working and providing an average of 29%. That doesn't fit with the real world information.

Alaska came to a screamin' halt with it. We'll see.

>>>*The current party line spouting is that all of the policies being cancelled are for "BAD" insurers offering "low" quality coverage, which of course anyone who pays attention at all will realize is just more horsepucky, MORE spin on the truth.

We hear it everywhere now, from those who would ride a dead horse long after it has fallen, mostly.

I have always kept a very high quality medical and dental plan for my own family, for my employees, always. It is important, security, it means their homes and lives are protected, and yes, expensive. It would be more but I am on Medicare.

One of the lucky ones, we did not get cancelled.....yet. Odds as I look at the situation is roughly 50-50 that we will be.

Meanwhile, we get TAXED at the rate of 40% because our plan is....TOO GOOD!!

Now I KNOW what goverment COULD do and perhaps well, will any of them listen? It doesn't appear they will, but I will keep right on sending my own emails with suggestions...The rest of you need to do the same, sometimes it even works....*EB
