Awhile back I posted and asked the size of the fuel tank & how many gallons/liter on fill up at empty. The reason I asked is the factory said tank capacity at 92 liters....I only have put in up to 62-64 when on red. 92 LWB 2.8TD.

Most responded about the same. Some suggested running it out and seeing.

Today - went to fill the tank - asked for diesel. I always go to watch as it's filled because I like it topped off - they pump......walked around to find 95 Gasohol going in 11.7 liters....stopped the pump and went to find someone....

Cal/Tex station - they were nice and we pushed it to their lube facility where they drained the tank and we pushed it back to the pump and filled it up = 92 liters......

So when showing empty between 450-500K I still have 30 liters left in the tank which should give me another 250K so and effective range of 600-750K per tank......

I think......not real comfortable driving at the empty marker...... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

UPDATE - after running down to empty @ 450 continued to drive it.....at 567K I discovered I had a low fuel light (left mil lamp below the tach) when is started flickering....researched the Aussie/UK threads and they indicated 11 liters - or 70 safe kilos left once the low fuel light stayed bright.....this being the 1st time and with the gauge on dead empty I filled up and took 80 liters....meaning 12 liters left when the light flickered on turns....good to have an idea how much further it left when the indicator hits the red area.....

Seems they all take around 60-62 liters when the needle hits red....and there is adequate reserve left another 150K

Sounds about right, once i get to the empty line with no fuel light there is usually 4-5 gallons in the tank. I've run it down to the light (and fueled up immediately) and there was 2-3 gallons left.

Then again my sending unit for my fuel gauge is a little weird, it creeps up and down within a 1/4 of a tank. Probably should get a new one.
