Good day gents!

What parts have you replaced on your Gen 2 Monteros?

Thanks in advance. This should be a good post!

Almost everything has been gone over. Engine, Suyspension, Steering, etc. So far I received it with a swapped in used engine. Replaced the steering Idler/Pitman arms. Replaced front anti-sway bar end bushings.

All fluids. Coolant. Engine Oil. Auto Transmission Oil. Transfercase oil. Differential Oils.

Regreased all the lube points. There's an illustration in the FSM. Use it or you're likely to miss some. Especially use it if you bring it to a Lube Place. They won't be as detailed as an owner will be and will probably be more likely to miss one.

I have owned mine a little over 4 years... bought it with 112,500 miles and it now has 138,950. In the last two weeks I put 1,000 miles on it which is rare.

Since I have owned it here's what I've replaced: Most of this service was done between 125-130k miles as it needed it:

- Windshield wipers
- Tail light bulb
- Upper Ball joints
- Idler Arm
- Waterpump
- Radiator and upper and lower hoses
- Trans cooler rubber lines
- Timing belt, Timing idler pulleys, Tensioner and tensioner pulley
- Serpentine belts
- Spark plugs and wires
- Rear lower door hinge ($75 from mitsu dealer.. ouch)
- Catalytic Converter
- Battery and Battery Cables
- Gas door catch/release assembly (surprisingly cheap from the dealer)
- Front Brakes new Loaded assemblies
- Front Wheel bearings, seals, etc.
- Rear Brakes - Pads and Rotors.
- Rear Springs for Lift and Load capacity.
- Various dash lights
- Front Marker lights (I guess upgrades don't count?)

I think that about covers it... smile

Here's two pictures from the weekend before last, of the Montero running ECORS Pit Crew / Chase vehicle and after some moderate wheeling to get to the top of Black Mountain in Harlan, Kentucky.

(Sorry if these pictures are too large for some of you.. I just grabbed the links from Facebook, normally my uploads from Blackberry aren't this big. )

I replaced the little rubber piece inside the cargo door that acts as a bumper when the door closes.
