12 volt accessory was wired backwards. I first used an "idiot stick" to check for power, volt meter showed the reversed polarity. Fixed. Bought new alternator belt and when going to install it noticed one of the (tension adjustment bolts?) was loose. Loosened everything and adjusted the (not very old) belt, it seemed to be out of the groves somewhat as it seated differently than when I loosened it and re-seated. Tightened everything up, the belt seems tighter than what would be normal on say a SB Chevy, but still has a little give. Fired it up, ran through no load, partial load, max load (fan on high, lights, stereo, 4 way blinkers, etc). 1 hour after shut down, the battery read 12.6 volts at the terminal posts. Check. At low idle 14.2 volts at the posts, at 1,500 rpm or so 14.4 volts. Check. Next is fluid. Oil, coolant, transmission, and transfer case. For oil I was thinking Castrol or Valvoline hi mileage semi syn. Coolant will be OEM compatible with an additive that reduces the op temps. For the 5 speed and transfer case, I'm going with either Amsoil or Royal Purple after some research. Thanks for the advice.
