Haven't researched it a ton but saw several cool videos out there. Anyone know if this could happen?

Grand Cruiser/Montero/Pajero

Any other future projects? Plus hasn't Toasty been working with Mitsu on another project and keeping a tight lid on it as well?

Not a real tight lid other than the pictures, it was kind of an open source project. It also sounds like a letter i wrote last year explaining the perception of Mitsubishi in America and what they should consider changing made some waves up top. I think the Gearboxmagazine Sierra Nevada Challenge issue made it to some top brass as well.
We'll see if anything comes from it, they'll probably get tired of me at some point. I suggested a switch back to [color:"red"] RED DIAMONDS [/color] to mark the change much like when they changed to chrome to mark the downfall.

This is me every week or so: trucks, brand recognition, commercial vehicles, economy, advertising, little tricks i learned to make the new cars quieter, black leather standard in Arizona is a bad idea bla bla bla ect. Maybe i should quit while i'm ahead...

I have been liking the electric car idea more and more unfortunately. I live ~2.5 miles from work.. and about 9 miles to the airport that I fly out of frequently.

An electric only mode hybrid would be awesome since the airport has electric vehicle plug in spots in the garage I park in anyway. I wouldn't even have to charge it up on the weekends, just run it off the airport charge ups during the week!

Realistically though, I don't know if I'd buy a hybrid SUV. It's cheaper to keep an old school SUV and buy an electric car I think.

Eventually those that research things for Mitsu may run across this post and get a "feel" for everyone's feedback. It's important to help support the brand and be somewhat interested in it. I like It but i'm sure they'll change the design some if it does come out.

The ideas are cool and hybred/electric is the future. Guess we'll see where it goes. Do we want the Montero back? I do cause if it does do well, that opens the doors to bringing back other vehicles

If it came with a turbo diesel, a locker, and has good ground clearance then I might think about it.

I hope they don't bring back the Montero name with some over glorified minivan bastard cross over

Or worse the Nissan Patrol, that was a big jump from body on frame and F/R solid axles with locking diffs at both ends to a MONDO car.

I actually like the QX56 but not for camping or 4 wheeling of course.

It's really hard to expect any manufacture to have a SUV with the characteristics of the SUV we all used to remember and admire from the 90's. All SUVs now are lower, longer, wider & made for more onroad. The new pathfinder is a disgrace to the old one that we saw in our younger days.

Depends what market mitsu targets. I still feel even the Gen 4 Pajeros are capable of some offroading. Only companies that are really still focused on any "offroaders" is Jeep & Toyota. Other than that, not many to choose from.
