I need to replace the orginal muffler on my 89 v6 raider. I looked on rockauto and a few other sites but didnt really come up with anything good. I am looking for an OE replacment preferably with the exhaust tubes welded on both sides so that I can just bolt it in. Does anybody make one like that or am I stuck cutting the old one out and welding in a new muffler. Does mitsubishi have a part number for the assembly? Has anyone purchased one from them directly? Any input would be great. Thank you!!!!!

Cut off the original mounting flanges and weld them to a new muffler if you can't find an OE replacement. This way you still have the ability to remove them the next time they need to be replaced. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Bosal makes quality parts and has a bolt in replacement for your Monty: http://www.qcsonline.net/bosalb2b/products/#jumpRock Auto carries this brand for my 94, but not for 89. Yo just need to find a distributor. I think Autozone also carries this line (i used it for my toyota)

I just put a $35 CL Flowmaster on mine. Sounds great! Craigslist is your friend.

In 2010 I finally had to replace my exhaust system from the Y pipe back. Difficult to source much. I got everything except the CAT from here System was ANSA made in Italy, all bolt-on stock but the muffler had a throaty sound. You won't find the part searching their site so you'll have to contact direct. It won't last as long as the OEM but in NC it'll do pretty good.
