Galant (VR4) alternators will work, so I suspect any DSM alternator might work. Takes a couple spacers, maybe an old socket to step the thing out from the block, but it's an option. Stupid to spend $150 on another puny alternator.

Sounds good Jay, Offroader lives right down the road! So any Mitsu truck, Galant, ect will work?

If you want a good alternator (not a puny one)...this one ebay seller is brewing up an upgraded model. Trucks got 50amps... starions got 75... he makes this hybrid one listed for the station putting out 100amps. Its 100$ shipped with a one year warranty. Its on my shopping list since mines about to die...

Found a 50amp on a 84 Mazda....mitsu markings all over alt. Checked it against old, mounting brackets were wider. Took 3 nuts and a washer to make a spacer, runs like a champ. Thanks for the help.
