Getting the Wheeling Fever
If you want a similar size vehicle the new jeep four door has almost the same dimensions as the gen 1 long wheel base. Park next to one. Mitzu knew what they were doing back in the 80's...now I never see dirt on any of them tho...mine loves to roll around in the southeast las vegas valley..

The best replacement I have found is the Mercedes G500. It has the killer looks of a Gen I Montero, 3 lockers, solid axles, coil suspension, 300+ horsepower, 5 speed auto tranny with manual mode, and every amenity you could ever want. I have a 2003 and it has been a great vehicle. Their is no doubt in my mind that a 10 year old G500 is more reliable and will last longer than a new Rubicon. These G500's were made to go a million miles. and they are bullet proof, literally.
