Can I put a bouncy base under my seat, and just retain the power recline feature? I pulled a base from a 93 and didn't want the fully manual seat since it was beat up and a different color.

The only way I could make it work on my 95 was to keep the bouncy seat's cushion (cloth) and graft my seat back section onto the whole lower frame. I did not like it and switched the driver's side back to stock, non-bouncy. The fixed position of the bouncy base just didn't work for me.

The passenger side bouncy base is easy and worth it to the passenger as it sacrifices nothing in adjustability or seat cushion mis-match.

Ugh..not exactly what I wanted to hear, but I am actually looking for different seats anyway. Just not necessarily right away.

Body Damage is Cool
I have dual bouncies in my '93, put an entire power seat in the driver side while I had the leather redone on the '93 seats. I'm actually glad to be back to the bouncy (or manual) style seat bottoms in the newly finished leathers. Fit me better than the power bottom.

I don't care for the factory seats, I'm looking for something like a set of 85 300ZX seats (with electric/pneumatic lumbar, etc.) like I had in my Trooper. They are manual + an electric pump to inflate the 3-position lumbar bladders so there's no motors in the way.

I have dual bouncies in mine. The power seat frame and manual seat frame are totally different and incompatible. You can't simply attach a manual seat bottom frame to a power seat back frame...I tried. If you want a driver side bouncy, you'll have to source a complete driver side manual frame.

It can be done. It's not pretty.

Haha, well I stand corrected, I guess where there's a will there's a way.
Johnny, so what exactly did you do?

I forced it together. Something still didn't fit right, though, as I recall the seat back wasn't in the same plane as the seat cushion, in other words, the seat back kind of faced 12:30 while the base was at 12:00. It did not want to go on there, but somehow it finally did. And it sucked.
